Kelleher (Kanturk) On October 3rd.2018 peacefully at Cork University Hospital, Denis, Dromalour, beloved husband of Judy (nee Neville) and dear father of Denise, Patrick, Michelle, Denis, Brendan and James, brother of Eileen, Peg, Anne and the late Margaret, Clem, Mary, Thady,Nora, Sheila and Kate. Sadly missed by his loving wife, family, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends.
Reposing at Mc Carthys Funeral Home, Banteer on Friday evening from 6.30 followed by removal at 8 o’clock to St. John’s Church, Dromagh. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 noon followed by burial in St Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet. [1] [2]

Con Walsh inducted into Athletics Ontario Hall of Fame
Last Saturday evening in Toronto, Canada, Olympic Bronze medalist Con Walsh from Carriganima, was inducted into the Athletics Ontario Hall of Fame.
“Cornelius represented Canada at the 1908 Olympic Games in London where he won the bronze medal with a throw of 48.50m. He was a Canadian Champion in 1907 in both the 56lb weight and the hammer throw and set a Canadian record in 1910 for the hammer and weight for height events. Cornelius set a world record of 4.93m in the 56lb weight for height event in 1910.” [Athletics Ontario]
His nephew Ned (from the same farm in Carriganima) along with Ned’s daughter Anne and son Michael attended as honoured guests. Michael told the guests:
“We are extremely grateful and honoured to accept this award on behalf of Con and all of the Walshs back home in Cork. We are very proud of Con’s achievements and we look forward to sharing this experience with our family and friends and neighbours when we return to Con’s birthplace of Carriganima.”
