Centenarian Jack began working in Millstreet in 1939!

JACK Hedigan recently celebrated his 100th birthday in Clonakilty and former AIB colleagues gathered in the branch in Clonakilty to mark this great milestone event. A native of Churchtown in North Cork, Jack began his banking career with the Munster & Leinster Bank  (AIB Bank) in Millstreet in May 1939, where he remained for nine years. Tidy Towns – Bronze Medal Presentation

The Tidy Towns Bronze Medal Award 2018 to Millstreet Tidy Towns volunteers, Gordon O’Keeffe, Derry Sheehan, Colman Culhane, was presented by Cllr. Mike Kennelly and Dolores Farrell, SuperValu Community and Sponsorship Brand Manager, at the Listowel Arms Hotel last weekend. Well done to ALL. [Tralee Today]

Eily’s Report – 27th November

Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chaired and welcome to my last report in November.

This week we congratulate one of our great employers Alps Electric on their 30th anniversary. For all those years they have given work to hundreds and I’m sure thousands of our people. Sitting in picturesque Mount Leader, they continue in their own quiet way to send their products to many parts of the world. And how proud some of our people out abroad are to see that the appliance that they are working on was made in Millstreet, Co. Cork.

Their weekend was filled with great celebration and with a lot of looking back on hopeful beginnings  in 1988 when Millstreet held its breath in anticipation, hardly allowing ourselves to believe that this fine employer was coming to stay. The world has changed a lot since then.

Most Stylish Duo 2018

Raymond & I, were really honoured to be announced winners of the Most Stylish Duo Award at the Cointreau Hi Style Awards 2018 ceremony which took place last Saturday in the Clayton Hotel, Cork.
As a Thank You to all those who voted and supported us we are delighted to be able to make a personal donation to Marymount Hospice.
