Our 10pm interview (24 minutes chat) tonight on Cork Music Station is with the wonderful Eily Buckley for whom 2018 has indeed been very special. And at 9:40pm we share some of Donal Murphy’s superb Christmas music which he played at the great Christmas Party for Cork North West Branch of MS Ireland which was held in the Hibernian Hotel, Mallow last Sunday (16th Dec. 2018). We refer to a special Christmas Greeting from Soest, Germany. He hear about the Porter Cake and Miss O’Leary’s Fruit Cake. We remember our Faithful Departed. Lots of Christmas Music and Songs of course including information about “Frosty the Snowman”! We chat about Millstreet’s Our Lady Queen of Peace Prayer Centre. And we share the uplifting reaction to our historic photos shared on our website recently. Feel very welcome to contact us during the programme by texting 086 825 0074 or our chatline on our Facebook page. All these features are illustrated below. Click on the images to enlarge. Aidan
“Here is a song we have liked for a long time and decided to record it. The song is called Aidan, Written by Rathcoole native Jeremiah O’Keeffe about his young nephew. Jeremiah is the writer of many fine songs . In this song he encourages children to enjoy childhood and not be in too much of a hurry to grow up. Although written a couple of decades ago the song lyrics are very relevant in today’s fast moving world.
Aidan was arranged and produced by Noel O’Leary from Millstreet a well known Musician and Producer.WishKelting everybody a very Happy Christmas and Peaceful New Year.” – The Kelts
Eily’s Report – 18th December
Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chairde, and welcome to my report.
The howling winds and driving rains, which have continued all day are still are at work outside as I settle down to write my last report before Christmas. And pray that all will be safe.
This is my last chance to remind you, to please shop at home. Please give our local stores and services one last push, to help them to survive into 2019 against all the pressures of on-line shopping and big department stores.
The good work in aid of the needy goes on. And ‘Work’ parties are the order of the day as the days wear down to the wonderful festival of Christmas.
