Russell Brookes, Rallying Champion (1945 – 2019)

Former Rally Driver Russell Brookes was the three times Circuit of Ireland winner in 1977,  1978, and 1983. British Champion 1977 and 1985. He Visited Millstreet in 2011 and 2015 with his wife, recalling stories of completing against Billy Coleman and Ger Buckley regularly that time. Famous for driving his ‘Andrews Heat for Hire’ liveried cars, has passed away last week at the age of 74. [obituary]

BARRETT (Clonakilty, Bandon and Millstreet): On November 5th 2019, peacefully, in the excellent care of the staff at Bushmount Nursing Home. RITA (née White), beloved wife of the late Willie, Coolfadda, Bandon. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, extended family, relatives and friends.
Rosary on Wednesday, November 6th 2019 at 7pm in Clonakilty Parish Church. Requiem Mass on Thursday, November 7th 2019 at 2pm. Funeral afterwards to St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clonakilty. Rest In Peace. [rip]
