Cheap Irish Houses
There’s a new upcoming property series on RTÉ series will feature Irish Instagram sensation Maggie Molloy of @cheapirishhouse, who is taking her property hunting skills to the next level by helping singles/couples/families who may be struggling to get on the property ladder.
Maggie has Millstreet connections, and she shot her promo video (above) for RTÉ around Tullig and Mushera, so maybe the scenic views of our locality may have helped in RTÉ taking on the project!
For now RTÉ are looking for people from all over Ireland to apply and take on the challenge. If you’re interested in taking part, GO HERE for details. [read more …] “Cheap Irish Houses”

Eily’s Report – 26th November
Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chairde, and welcome to my report.
We are into the last week of November, the month of the Holy Souls and still a few days left to gain an indulgence for the Holy Souls by dropping into any graveyard and saying a prayer for them. We are also into the fourth week of the month when we are asked to pray for the souls of Faiths who do not believe in Purgatory.
This is the final week to sign up for Millstreet Text Alert for 2020. It costs just €10 and application forms are available at Wordsworth Book Store in the Town and at Gueren’s Shop in Ballydaly where you can sign up and pay and fill in the form. Please help others to avail of this great service if they are unable to do so themselves.
My Own Dear Millstreet Home
This song My Own Dear Millstreet Home is quite beautiful. Recorded by Eileen Sheehan of Abbeydorney in the 1960’s, they don’t make them like this any more. But, does anyone know who wrote this song?
Looking for O’Sullivans
Hello! My name is Erin, I’m from the States but studying at UCC for the semester. My grandmother sent me with information about our family and family’s friends that lived in Millstreet, and I was hoping to be able to get in touch with them. My great grandmother was Catherine (Nanny) Kelleher, she and her family lived next to the O’Sullivans whose property borders the Blackwater River (not sure exactly where though, but near Dooneen). My grandparents and other family members have visited the O’Sullivan’s when they visited Ireland in the past. If anyone knows them and could put me in contact with them that would be amazing! My grandmother sent me with some pictures of her on the property from years ago and I was hoping I could be able to visit again for her. [f]
Thank you so much!!
