The lives of each of us have changed dramatically since the first case of COVID19 was diagnosed. Contact with family and friends is now done electronically rather than personally, a lot of people are working remotely which means less contact with work colleagues, schools and college doors are closed, children aren’t meeting their friends and the preparation and anticipation of summer holidays have been put on hold. All these changes are hard at many levels, but by staying strong and by continuing to follow the advice we are being given by our HSE leaders and Government we can look forward to better days with our family and friends.
We have all been receiving “What’s app’s” with varying content – prayerful, spiritual, comical and amusing. I have put together some contents from these messages and perhaps when reading them take a moment to ponder on each one and the relevance in your life. Stay safe and thank you for the support and encouragement I continue to receive.
A THOUGHT FOR EACH DAY OF THE WEEK
- The past cannot be changed
- Everyone’s journey is different
- Things always get better with time
- Happiness is found within
- Positive thoughts create positive things
- Enjoy the little things in life because one day you’ll look back and realise they were the big things.
- Always remember God loves you even on your worst days.
The Feast of Our Lady of Fatima is on next Wednesday 13th May and this was a day which the Legion of Mary would celebrate the Apparitions of Our Lady by saying the rosary publicly. However due to COVID19 restrictions this is not possible this year. Instead parishioners are invited to recite the rosary in their own homes at 3.00p.m. if possible or whatever times suits you. The hope of the Legion is that this sizeable gift be given to Our Lady for her intentions at this time.
Thunder and Lightening
We were warned about slow moving thundershowers with lightening, and that’s what we got. For two hours there was lots of noise, lots of flashes, and heavy showers, as cold air moved in on our lovely warmth. It feels like summer is rolling in 🙂 The picture below shows the lightening strikes from 4:30 – 5pm.
