“Where the Road Takes Me” at 7pm this Sunday on C103

We thank Presenter, John Greene for advance information on this Sunday evening’s programme – 23rd May 2021 at 7pm on C103.  (S.R.)

This week on ‘Where the road takes me’ it’s the second in a three part programme which looks at the sinking of the Lusitania in May of 1915.

All three programmes deal with the myths and facts surrounding the ship and its sinking by German  submarine U-20 off the Old Head of Kinsale.

The programmes also deals in detail with the background to the Cork passengers, but one in particular, that of Julia O’Neill from Froe in Rosscarbery.  The part of Julia is played by Mary O’Leary.

The exact words used in reports by the crew of the Courtmacsherry Lifeboat on the day and local journalists, are repeated by members of Clonakilty and Barryroe Historical Society.  [read more …] ““Where the Road Takes Me” at 7pm this Sunday on C103″
