Peggy Collins (née O’Byrne) Newmarket and Millstreet
The death has occurred of Peggy Collins (née O’Byrne), Lower Road and formerly of Church Street, Newmarket, Co Cork.
Collins. Newmarket. On September 22, 2021, peacefully, in the excellent care of the staff of Kanturk Community Hospital, Peggy (née O’Byrne), Lower Road and formerly of Church Street, beloved wife of Con (Corney) and dear mam of Anna and sister of the late Dola and Bernie. Deeply mourned by her loving husband, daughter, brothers Fr. Paddy, Kevin and Billy, and her beloved sister Marie (Winters), nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
May she rest in peace.
Visitation from 6pm to 8pm on Friday evening in O’Reilly’s Funeral Home. Peggy’s Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, Newmarket and will be livestreamed on the Newmarket and Taur Parish Facebook page. Church capacity limited to 50%. Funeral afterwards to Clonfert Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to Kanturk Community Hospital. Messages of sympathy may be placed on the Condolences link HERE.
Millstreet Meals on Wheels service
The Millstreet Meals on Wheels service is available for anyone who needs it. All food is prepared in Millstreet Day Centre & we operate the service 5 days a week. You can order a hot dinner for as many days as you like, delivered to your door from Mon-Fri for just €6 a day for the main meal & €2 for dessert.
A variety of meals are served throughout the week and the staff will endeavour to facilitate individual tastes when preparing meals. Coeliac dinners & desserts available also. Please see our menu for next week below.

We thank the person who has alerted us to a Deer Sighting in the Millstreet/Ballydaly Road and who indicated the following: “The Deer came out in front of me on Saturday night and I was lucky enough to avoid hitting him.” Sincere thanks to this person for sharing such an important safety notice especially for Motorists and Users of All Vehicles who would be travelling on this busy road.
