“Where the Road Takes Me” at 7pm this Sunday on C103

We thank Presenter, John Greene for advance information on this Sunday evening’s programme – 30th Jan. 2022 at 7pm on C103.  (S.R.)

Where The Road Takes Me – Sunday 30th Jan.

On last week’s edition of ‘Where the road takes me’, we heard about the heroics and exploits of Arctic Explorer Tom Crean from Annascaul in County kerry.

Tom who spent two years stationed with the British navy on Bere Island, was a veteran of three Antarctic Expeditions with Shackleton and Scott and the recipient of the highest award for bravery.

In part two this week, John Greene speaks to his Grand-daughter Aileen Crean-O’Brien, who sets out for the most desolate and dangerous place on Earth, in an attempt to follow in her Grandfather’s footsteps.

We discover that the Antarctic lives up to its dangerous billing, as one of the group suffers a serious injury, in a place where dialling 999 is a useless exercise.  [read more …] ““Where the Road Takes Me” at 7pm this Sunday on C103″
