Age Friendly Towns

Millstreet has been established as one of 8 Age Friendly towns across Cork which is as a result of a process which began when County Cork committed itself to establishing a county where older people can live full, active and healthy lives by signing up to Ireland’s National Age Friendly Cities and Counties Programme (AFCC).

We have put together a committee locally to help get this initiative off the ground but we need more participants from around the area to help drive some of the plans & projects to help make Millstreet a more Age Friendly town. This committee are working in conjunction with members of Cork County Council to help develop & deliver on projects. More information can be found on Age Friendly Ireland – https://agefriendlyireland.ie/

Millstreet Meals on Wheels service

The Millstreet Meals on Wheels service is available for the elderly & isolated in the Millstreet catchment area. All food is prepared in Millstreet Day Centre & we operate the service 5 days a week. You can order a hot dinner for as many days as you like, delivered to your door from Mon-Fri for just €6 a day for the main meal & €2 for dessert.

 A variety of meals are served throughout the week and the staff will endeavour to facilitate individual tastes when preparing meals. Coeliac dinners & desserts available also. Please see our menu for next week below.
