On 11th July, 2022, peacefully, in the exceptional care of the medical staff at the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, London, Rosie Fenaroli (aged 6).

Beloved and adored daughter of Donagh and Francesca.

Sadly missed by her heartbroken parents, grandparents Timmy Joe and Brenda O’Sullivan (Cullen), Carol and the late Ettore Fenaroli (London), aunt Lisa, uncles Tadhg, Seán, Con, Geoff, Diarmaid and Mícheál, granduncles, grandaunts, much loved cousins, teachers and many friends.

The Mass of the Angels will be celebrated at 12 noon on Friday 29th July at St. James’s Catholic Church, Marylebone, London.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 4pm on Monday 8th August at St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet, Co. Cork.

This will be an opportunity for extended family, neighbours and friends to meet Donagh and Fran, the Fenaroli and O’Sullivan families to offer their condolences.

Millstreet Meals on Wheels service

The Millstreet Meals on Wheels service is available for the elderly & isolated in the Millstreet catchment area. All food is prepared in Millstreet Day Centre & we operate the service 5 days a week. You can order a hot dinner for as many days as you like, delivered to your door from Mon-Fri for just €6 a day for the main meal & €2 for dessert.

 A variety of meals are served throughout the week and the staff will endeavour to facilitate individual tastes when preparing meals. Coeliac dinners & desserts available also. Please see our menu for next week below.

The Duhallow Historical Journal

Volume I of Dúchas: The Duhallow Historical Journal will be launched at 8pm on Saturday, 23 July. The launch will take place in the recently refurbished Cultúrlann Mhic Amhlaoibh, Newmarket, the beautiful new venue located in the old Protestant church in the townThe journal contains fifteen contributions, twelve of which are in English and three in Irish. Among the contributors are a mixture of local authors and university academics. The history and folklore of Duhallow and its hinterland are the focus. Places touched upon include, but are not confined to, Ballydaly, Ballydesmond, Banteer, Castlemagner, Clara, Clonmeen, Cullen, Donaghmore, Drishane, Dromagh, Dromtarriff, Kanturk, Knocknagree, Liscahane, Millstreet, Nadd, Rathcoole and Tullylease. Contributions are currently being sought for volume II, which it is hoped will appear in 2023.
 
All will be welcome at the launch. Copies of the journal may be purchased there, in local bookshops, or by contacting the editor at the following email address: <email>.

Sliabh Luachra Cycling Club

A fantastic weekend of cycling for our youths dis weekend. 22 enthusiastic riders proudly representing the club in 2 great cycling events been held this weekend.
💝 3 riders headed to Co. Cavan for the Moynalty GP which was successfully held by Moynalty Cycling Club & we thank them for having us there. Conor Lynch U12, Hannah Dennehy O Sullivan U14 & Kate Murphy U16 had a very successful morning with each of them coming home with a cash prize. With tough competition there starting off at 9am, They each had a superb race in the morning heat. We congratulate Conor winning 3rd place, Hannah winning 4th place & Kate winning 1st place. Fantastic cycling by all 3. Great efforts.
🚴 It all kicked off at 10am for 19 more riders who headed to Limerick Racecourse for the Modulcc Race Day which was very well organised & supervised by Greenmount Cycling Academy & we thank them for having us there. 1st up was the fun race with 8 of our rising stars starting off the event in the U8s & U10s catorgy. Caroline Collins, George Cleverly, Cara O Sullivan, amazing duo Marian & Brian Mulvaney, Conor Fleming, Cian Cronin & back on the track Aoife O Mahony after a short break. They had 1 lap around the track & what a race they had with George & Caroline coming over the line in 1st place U8s & Cara winning 1st in U10s. Great effort shown by all our youths Marian, Brian, Conor, Cian, Aoife all improving with every race with smiles.
Next up we had 9 in the U12s.
Abaigh Dennehy, Rose Linehan, Caolfhionn Foley, Dan Dennehy O Sullivan, Kieran Mulvaney, Jack Fleming, mighty duo Dillon & Ryan O Sullivan & Ethan Reel.
They had 2 laps around the track. We congratulate Ethan on his 1st race back after his accident & what a race he had with his 1st win today in Greenmount showing great strength, Kieran crossed the line in 2nd place & was very powerful all the way. Abaigh was our 1st girl over the line & finished very strong with the boys showing great determination. 3rd place went to Rose & Caolfhionn won 1st unplaced U11. Both with very strong finishs. Training is paying off. Jack, Dan, Dillon & Ryan all crossed the line & are improving no end.
Then came along the U14s race where they had 6 tough laps & no let up in the heat, we had 1 rider Nicholas James Buckley who worked very hard in staying up with the bunch where he proudly finished in 3rd place.
U16s was next up with Donagh O Connor. He had 12 very tough laps & never fell back, fought very hard & powered on finishing over the line in 5th place.
👏 The club is very proud of all their members & their improvements with every training session. The weather was amazing & fun was had by the members in the playground there.
💯 We’d like to thank Vinnie for his continuous time in keeping these events going. We look forward to a return visit on 14th August.
