Based in North Cork , Avonmore Electrical Co. Ltd provides Industry with a variety of electro-mechanical repair services, since establishment over 60 years ago. We are a privately owned company, small enough to care, yet big enough to cater for large complex electro-mechanical machinery maintenance and repair. We are seeking a suitable candidate who will be fully trained to undertake mechanical works carried out in the workshop in a busy manufacturing industry organisation. The ideal candidate will have a well developed mechanical aptitude, be up for a challenge, work with great attention to detail, on their own initiative, or as part of a Team. The position may suit an individual who has previous experience as a mechanic. You will be joining a Team of unique experts in the electro-mechanical field, who will impart their knowledge on a daily basis. Every day will be an opportunity to learn.
Duties include:
• Overhaul and repair of pumps, gearboxes, other electro-mechanical equipment as required.
• Maintenance and repair of damaged/worn parts, servicing, checking components etc.
• Assist as part of workshop team in larger works.
• Other duties as required in a busy workshop environment.
Desirable Skills:
• Experience in a mechanical role would be an advantage.
• Working knowledge of aspects of electro/mechanical equipment, i.e., motors, gearboxes, pumps, fans would be beneficial but not necessary.
• Good record keeping ability of each job worked – use of internal record keeping system.
• Experience in a busy workshop environment is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills –written and verbal.
• Strong work ethic, with flexibility, is expected.
• Working to set time frames.
• Ability to comply with H&S regulations and wearing of the correct PPE.

Presentation of Proceeds to CART Carriganima from Recent Charity Tractor Run

Last Night Friday November 18th at The Pub in Carriganima saw Millstreet Vintage Club make a Presentation to CART Carriganima a sum Total of €2336 which was the proceeds from the Clubs Charity Tractor Run that was ran on Oct 16th last to go towards the running of the CART Area Rural Bus Service based out of Carriganima,the amount of Money raised from the Event is a vital ingredient in keeping this important Service up and Running and will help in some way to keep the wheels in motion for a Service that is available to both the Community of Carriganima and a Wider Area beyond for Transport to Events like weekly Shopping Trips to Macroom and other Social Activities /Trips as required,
Millstreet Vintage Club Member Danny Lane who headed up the Running of the Charity Tractor Run paid Tribute on the Night to Everyone who made this Event the success that it was and wished CART the very best for the Future.
Millstreet Vintage Club are once again delighted to be associated with such a worthy Cause and the Club wish to thank CART Carriganima and all Associated with them
for there help along the way and we look forward to working with this great Group again in 2023

Who died 19th November, 2021.
On this our mothers first anniversary, we her family would sincerely like to thank everyone who offered Condolences, sent mass cards, attended the funeral and helped in any way.
Many thanks to her wonderful neighbours, friends and extended family and all who supported us.  Your presence and kindness brought us so much comfort.
Special thanks to Fr John Fitzgerald P.P. for his support and for concelebrating her funeral mass with Fr Radley, Fr Byrne and Fr Mullane.
Thanks to the parish Sacristen, Secretary and Davy Tarrant undertakers for their professionalism.
We thank the Doctors, Nurses, public health nurses and carers without whom it would have been impossible to care for Mom at home.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this Acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation.  The Holy sacrifice of mass has been offered for your intentions.
Anniversary mass will be celebrated on Sunday 27th November, 2022 at 11.30am in St Patrick’s Church Millstreet.

Patrick O’Connell, South Horsemount, Kilcorney

The death has occurred of Patrick O’Connell, South Horsemount, Kilcorney,  Co. Cork.

Patrick O’Connell, South Horsemount, Kilcorney, Rathcoole, Mallow, Co. Cork peacefully passed away in the tender loving care of the doctors and staff in the CUH on 16th November 2022. Predeceased by his parents Nora and John, brother Denis, sisters Kathleen and Nora-Marian. Patrick will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Mary, his adoring daughter Linda and her partner David, Patrick’s step-daughter Aoife, stepsons James, Jason and David, step-grandchildren Reuben and Louie, brothers Seán and Thomas, sisters Betty, Mary and Eileen, nieces, nephews, extended family members and a wide circle of friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace

Reposing in St Nicholas’ Church, Kilcorney on Saturday from 5pm to 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 10am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Messages of sympathy can be left on the condolence link HERE.
