With just under 3 weeks left to go to the Millstreet Vintage Club Autumn Car Run happening on Sunday September 3rd plans are well advanced in putting the final touches to the event which is again in Aid of The Alzheimer Society of Ireland, Sign On is at The Bridge Bar Millstreet Eircode (P51 H978) from 10.30am with Take Off at 12.30pm,Lovely Scenic Route Starting in Millstreet with a Break in Gouganne Barra and Finishing at The Pub Carriganima for Refreshments and Live Entertainment.

All Vintage,Classic Cars Bikes Vans etc very Welcome on the Day.

Mary Lane, Banteer & Kanturk

The death has occurred of Mary Lane, Banteer, Co. Cork / Kanturk, Co. Cork.

Lane (Banteer and late of Kanturk and South Horsemount, Kilcorney) On August 12th 2023, peacefully in  the loving care of Geraldine, nurses and staff at Millstreet Community Hospital, Mary (retired nurse Kanturk Community Hospital), beloved sister of Norah (Keir) and the late Dan, Kitty, Ellen (O Sullivan), Thade, Peggy, Denny and Patricia (Hartnett). Deeply regretted by her sister, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May she rest in peace

Reposing at McCarthy’s Funeral Home, Banteer. Rosary on this Sunday evening at 8:00pm. Reposing on Monday evening from 7:00pm followed by removal at 8:30pm to St Fursey’s Church, Banteer. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 11:30am which can be viewed live at http://www.churchservices.tv/banteer. Burial afterwards in Kilcorney cemetery.

Millstreet Library – North Cork Social Provider

Eithne Foley, North Cork Social Prescriber based in the Le Chéile Family Resource Centre in Mallow – will be visiting Millstreet library on Thursday 17th August at 11 00 am to deliver a talk on the benefits on Social Prescribing.

Social Prescribing is for people who want to improve their quality of life.  It is a great way to meet new people, get more active, manage a chronic illness, or improve mental and physical wellbeing.

Social prescribing is a free service and the community resources discussed would be free or low cost.

Please come to Millstreet Library on Thursday August 17th at 11 am for more information.
