2023 National Dairy Show at the Green Glens Arena, Millstreet, Co. Cork

13th- 14th October, Green Glens Arena, Millstreet, Co. Cork

Irelands Number One Dairy Event

The AXA National Dairy Show Launch took place at the IHFA office, in Clonakilty Co. Cork this week.

The AXA National Dairy Show is back for its 41st outing in the wonderful surroundings of the Green Glens Arena, Millstreet, Co. Cork which has been home to the event since its inception in 1982 and with the 2023 Show promising to build on the past forty one years of growth it has enjoyed thanks to the hardworking Cork Holstein Friesian Club committee.

This year’s Show will run over Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th of October with the large trade show and dairy cattle classes taking place over both days, a highly successful initiative from last year with both visitors and exhibitors alike commenting on the huge crowd attending both days and the electric atmosphere throughout the venue.

The annual event has become the meeting place of the dairy industry and will once again include the largest specialised dairy trade exhibition in Ireland with major exhibitors in the area of AI, animal health, breeding & dairy agritech, milking equipment, robotics, livestock machinery, finance, dairy services, nutrition, soil and land management, dairy inputs and with many more areas in attendance.

The Show takes pride in promoting all the latest in dairy technology and research, including the National Dairy Innovation Awards and of course the best dairy cattle battling for the most prestigious dairy showing competition in Ireland.  Denis Kiely, Show Director anticipates another great event, “If you want to keep up with the latest in the dairy world this is the place to be.”

AXA Insurance continue their strong relationship with the National Dairy Show as title sponsors for a second year, speaking at the launch, Tom McCarthy, Agri-Regional Development Manager for AXA Insurance Munster said “We are delighted to be the title sponsors of the AXA National Dairy Show. Last year’s show was second to none in terms of dairy stock quality as well as diversity and innovation across the trade show – it is without a doubt the major dairy event of the year.”

The Irish Holstein Friesian Association (IHFA) are managing all aspects of the trade show this year and Chief Executive Laurence Feeney has been blown away by the demand for trade stand space. “We always knew the popularity of the National Dairy Show was exceptional but after last year’s success the demand has been unprecedented – it is the event every industry member wants to attend. They know it is the most important show to meet with customers and do business for the year.”

Famous Comedian, Rory Bremner, pays special tribute to the memory of the late Sir Michael Parkinson – on Sky News this Thursday evening, 17th Aug. 2023 – live from Millstreet.
