New Footpath from Drishane to Coole Cross

The Drishane road has long been day or night a popular place for  people looking to get out and walk or run in a safe location. Good news is that the pavement looks set to be extended out to Coole Cross in the near future.

The Corkman tells us that at the most recent meeting of the local municipal district, funding of €40,000 was allocated for  the Footpath Project Millstreet from Drishane to Coole Cross, while the Christmas Lights  in Millstreet are also to receive funding of €8,000. [1]

So many people walk that stretch of the road that a path has long been reddened into the roadside, so hopefully this footpath will add extra safety for those out walking.
