October Employment Workshops – Jobseeking tools – Millstreet, Cobh and Youghal in the next two weeks, registration open now

During October, our interactive workshops will give you the basics on how to search for a job that suits your skills.

The workshops are free to attend and our Employment Support Officers will be available to meet people on a one to one basis after the workshop.

Topics covered will include:

  • Learning how to job search effectively
  • Getting a better response to your job application
  • Structuring your Job Search Strategy
  • Hidden Jobs Market
  • Confidence Getting back to the Work Place

The workshops will take place in:

  • Midleton – 7th October
  • Cobh – 14th October
  • Millstreet – 16th October
  • Youghal – 22nd October

Walk in Aid of Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland (AADI)

Michael O’Mahony, East End, Rathmore, Co Kerry will be taking on the 80K in the October challenge in support of Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland (AADI).

He will appreciate your support as he completes the 80 kilometres during the month of October!

He will be walking roads of Rathmore & East Kerry during October.

As you may or may not know, AADI are not government funded and so they rely on public donations.

It takes 2 years and 25,000 euros to fully fund the training of one Autism Assistance Dog.

One Autism Assistance Dog can transform the life of their child companion and family, providing safety, independence, and a lifetime bond for an autistic child.

Humphrey Hickey, Dromsicane and Station Road, Millstreet, Co. Cork

The death has occurred of Humphrey Hickey, Dromsicane and Station Road, Millstreet,  Co. Cork.

On Friday October 4th 2024, unexpectedly at his home in Station Road.
Predeceased by his parents Denny Joe and Sheila, his brother Jim and sister-in-law Liz.

Sadly missed by his brothers John, Denis, Connie, Patrick, Paul and Timmie, his sisters Margaret and Kathleen, sister-in-law Stephanie, niece Anna, nephew James, cousins, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

 

Reposing in the family home in Dromsicane P51 K120 on Tuesday, 8th October, from 4pm to 7.30pm. Reception in to St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet on Wednesday 9th for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet.

Model Show 2024

Sunday 6th October 2024 was another impressive event by MVC which was the Model Show. A large crowd entered K&L warehouse to show their support with proceeds going to Millstreet Tidy Towns.
Donie Lucey Clerk of the course & Millstreet Vintage Club would like to thank Gordon & Breeda O’Keeffe and staff of K&L for the outstanding venue & help given to us, Facecook Catering for refreshments, Breeda Lucey for refreshments durning the day, Dromtarriffe Hall, Burtons Topline Kanturk, Forklift drivers, Seanie Walsh traffic management , Photographer’s & Videographer’s, exhibitors & traders with their displays with many of them travelling hours to the event, all Marshall’s for helping, the crew at the gate, raffle ticket sellers & business owners for spot prizes.
Big well done to all children from the schools that won the colouring competition we hope you enjoyed your day with family & looking forward on seeing ye back next year.
 A special thanks to everyone that helped on Saturday Morning with setting the venue and also the tidy up Sunday evening after the event. The help that was given doesn’t go unnoticed.
