The death has occurred of Sr Juliana (Mary) O’Donoghue, Ballybay, Monaghan / Millstreet,  Co. Cork.

The death has occurred of Sr. Juliana (Mary) O’Donoghue. Tuesday, February 12th 2025. The Sacred Heart Convent, Ballybay and formerly of Aubane, Millstreet, Co. Cork, who worked as a missionary in the diocese of Tzaneen, Limpopo, South Africa for 30 years. Peacefully in the tender loving care of the nurses and staff of St. Anne’s Nursing Home, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan.

Predeceased by her parents Humphrey and Mary, sister Eily (Twomey) and brother Humphrey.

Sr. Juliana (Mary) deeply regretted and remembered with love by her family, brothers John-Joe and Maurice, sisters in-law Ann and Gertie, nieces, nephews extended family, and her religious community, Daughters Of Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart Convent and her many friends.

Sr. Juliana (Mary) will repose at the Convent Chapel, Ballybay (A75F243) on Friday afternoon from 3pm until removal at 6:40pm (driving) to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church,  Ballybay for reception prayers at 7pm.

Sr. Juliana’s (Mary) Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballybay, on Saturday morning at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Please note at the request of the O’Donoghue family a Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church,  Millstreet, Co. Cork at a later date.

Rathmore’s Marian Players Presentations

Rathmore panto raises €24k for Kerry Parents and Friends  

The Marian Players Panto Group filled the seats of Rathmore Community Centre to generate an impressive  €24,000 sum for the Kerry Parents and Friends Association.  Chairman of the Marian Players Group Val Moynihan commended the terrific spirit of volunteerism that boosted the panto down through the years.  Chairman to the Kerry Friends and Parents Helen Power  commended the Marian Players in the six shows  that helped generate €24,000 funding for the Association.

The occasion remembered the late Michael John Dinneen who passed away last summer, the late Michael John made an enormous contribution not only to the Panto but to numerous Rathmore community organizations in addition to his phenomenal work with the Kerry Parents and Friends.

Former KPFA CEO Tony Darmody presented a framed montage of Michael John’s involvement with the Panto to the Dinneen family.
