Eily’s Helicopter Trip – Magnificent Birthday Surprise from Her Family

Eily’s Helicopter Birthday Surprise!

Wednesday, 24th April was Eily Buckley's 80th Birthday. To very especially mark such a wonderful occasion Eily's family organised a surprise helicopter trip from Cork Airport to West Cork and to Kilmeedy Castle, Millstreet today. Seán Murphy and I were alerted and we went to Kilmeedy Castle to await the fly over of Eily and Pilot over the Castle. This we recorded for tonight's Prog. 217 of LTV2 which will also be available online over the next few days. (S.R.)
Wednesday, 24th April 2013 was Eily Buckley’s 80th Birthday. To very especially mark such a wonderful occasion Eily’s family organised a surprise helicopter trip from Cork Airport to West Cork and to Kilmeedy Castle, Millstreet today. Seán Murphy and I were alerted and we went to Kilmeedy Castle to await the fly over of Eily and Pilot over the Castle. Millstreet Active Retired Celebrates 10th Birthday

Members of Millstreet Active Retired Group following celebration of Mass in Millstreet on Tuesday 16/10/2012.   The enthusiastic group was formed in 2002 and to mark its 10th Birthday a special Mass was celebrated by Canon John Fitzgerald, P.P. and a grand reception was held afterwards in the Wallis Arms Hotel.   Lots more pictures to follow later.   (S.R.)

A wonderful gathering of family and friends celebrating at the home of Annmarie and Jerry O’Mahony, Clara, Millstreet on the splendidly uplifting occasion of the 90th birthday of Gobnait Twomey, Murphy’s Terrace on Friday, 20th January 2012. Noel’s 70th Birthday Celebrated at the “Clara Inn”

Although Noel's 70th Birthday does not take place until Christmas Eve, a truly wonderful celebration especially paid tribute to the ever-popular Noel Collins of Clara Road at the "Clara Inn" on Thursday, 22nd December 2011 when his wife, Eileen and many Friends assembled for a most enjoyable occasion.

Phil Cronin is a man who is well travelled and half way around the Planet he has flown
Yet when he talks of Millstreet in Duhallow you always hear him mention the word home
And though he’s raised his children in Australia and he left Ireland many years ago
He still talks with s strong Duhallow accent an accent that he never will outgrow.

I met him at Rosemary Kelleher’s fiftieth birthday party with Kitty his endearing Irish wife
And they look well and young despite the passage of time and they don’t look ravaged by the cares of life,
Phil Cronin drank his beer and talked of Millstreet and back the roads of memory he did go
To the people he knew in the Town of Millstreet the Learys and John Sing and Mister O.
