Final Reminder for Millstreet Community Text Alert 2023
Millstreet Community Text Alert is now accepting applications from those who wish to renew or join
the Millstreet Text Alert System for 2023 at a cost of €10. This system is a mechanism for Gardaí to
provide crime prevention information to community groups.
If you are interested in renewing/joining, please put your name, address and mobile number with €10
in a sealed envelope and drop it to Wordsworth in Millstreet or to Guerin’s Shop in Ballydaly. Closing
date for receipt of applications is Friday November 25 th 2022.

Muintir na Tíre has launched a Crime Prevention Programme using a personal property register logbook (pictured with Joseph Lawler below) to record all details of equipment. It encourages householders to write down the make, model, and serial number of valuable possessions so that they can be reclaimed if recovered by the Gardai. Its purpose is to reduce theft and facilitate recovery.
A special meeting outlining the great value of the Millstreet Community Texting Alert Scheme takes place in the Wallis Arms Hotel at 8.30 tonight (Tuesday, 29th Nov. 2016). (S.R.)

The Launch (as part of Operation Thor) was jointly organised by Millstreet Community Council and Millstreet Gardai. Speakers included Superintendent Michael Fitzpatrick Macroom, Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Ian O’ Callaghan Bandon, Sergeant Paul Lynch Millstreet and Community Garda John Crowley Millstreet. A lovely bright crisp morning greeted climbers for the annual Mushera Christmas Morning Climb, and a crowd of well in excess of a hundred took to the mountain to create an appetite for their Christmas dinner (or get away from the cooking of it!). This year the proceeds were in aid of the newly formed Aubane Community Alert, who added: “Many thanks to those who donated. The fund is still open. Sponorships cards still available”.
The Annual Christmas Day Morning Climb will take place on Thursday Christmas Day Morning at 10.30 am. Meeting place is St Johns Well Car park or the Millstreet Country Park Entrance. This year the proceeds are in Aid of Aubane Community Alert. Sponsorship Cards will soon be available from Sonia O’Riordan Secretary or John F Kelleher Chairperson any Aubane Social Club member. Donations can be given on the day as there will be a bucket. Hope you all can make it…
