Wonderful Response to Daffodil Day 2019 in Millstreet

The response to the fundraising Daffodil Day 2019 in aid of the Irish Cancer Society within the Millstreet area was hugely supportive with a most impressive total (as of now) of €4,100.00 lodged into the account of the Irish Cancer Society.  We thank Phil Sheehan of the Coordinating Team for the update.   This is a very encouraging result from today’s tremendous work by several Volunteers outside Herlihy’s Centra, Millstreet Post Office, Supervalu and Coleman’s Centra – especially when one considers that weather truly affected the overall national response and the ICS is not confident that the annual target of €4 million will be reached this year so nationwide the appeal continues.   Here we feature some 10 images from today’s Daffodil Day in Millstreet Town.  The Organising Team extends sincere thanks for such a superb response here in Millstreet.  Click on the images to enlarge. Community Hall a special Coffee Morning for the very same cause was most successful and had been coordinated by Mary Fitzgerald (in red on third image below).  We share a selection of images from that event.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)
