Lucey Transport to be acquired by DFDS

Cork-based Lucey Transport Logistics has been acquired by DFDS, a European shipping and logistics company.

The family-owned business was first established 90 years ago in Millstreet, Co. Cork.

The company employs over 250 staff, making it one of Ireland’s largest logistics companies.

Lucey Transport Logistics has distribution operations in Dublin, Clonmel, Cork and Lurgan. As part of the acquisition, DFDS will now operate these centres along with their substantial trucking operations and 400 trailers.

The Cork firm provides distribution and logistics services primarily to consumer goods companies.

Lucey Transport Logistics offers a range of logistics solutions to customers, including warehousing, inventory management, bonded storage, and product rework and labelling.

 

Qualified Accountant at Lucey Transport

Lucey Transport Logistics is currently seeking applications for a qualified Accountant to join our busy and exciting team in Millstreet. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, ownership and control of accounting function, Overseeing accounts payable, debtors and payroll functions. Production of timely monthly management accounts ,VAT Returns. Preparation of completed year end audit accounts and main contact for external auditors. Assist with tendering process / contract renewals and other assigned tasks.   • Admin Person based in their Millstreet office to cover for maternity leave
  • Knowledge of excel and sage
  • Processing orders and updating records on the transport system
  • Working with a small team
  • Training  will be provided

Presentation by Lucey Transport Ltd. Drivers to Donal Barry on His Recent Retirement

Drivers of Millstreet Depot of Lucey Transport Ltd. assembled at the Macroom Road Centre on Saturday afternoon, 6th April 2019 to make a special presentation to the very popular Donal Barry of Boherbue on his recent retirement after 45 years of wonderfully dedicated service at Lucey Transport Ltd., Millstreet.   Following some very witty sincere speeches the group enjoyed refreshments at Café Aroma at Minor Row, Millstreet.  We, as well as the Organisers of this presentation, extend sincere congratulations to Donal and wish him many long years of happy and healthy retirement.   Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)
