We are disappointed to announce the cancellation of our Willie Neenan Memorial 5 mile road race which was to be held on 26th June next. Due to the current restrictions in place for Covid-19 it was an obvious but difficult decision to make. Please stay safe in these difficult times and lets look forward to next years race.
Wonderfully Successful Christmas Jumper Challenge Run 2019 Supporting Irish Cancer Society
Setting out from Millstreet GAA Community Hall at 10:30 this Saturday morning, 7th Dec. 2019 and coordinated by Millstreet Athletic Club this year’s Christmas Jumper Challenge Run in aid of Irish Cancer Society was a wonderful success with many enthusiastic and energetic runners (and walkers) participating. Willie Neenan Memorial Race – Photos and results
There was a big crowd for the Willie Neenan Memorial 5 mile Road Race on Friday evening, where 212 runners completed the course. The men’s race was won by International runner Kevin Maunsell of Clonmel in a time of 25:30, while the ladies race was won by Carol Finn (whose mum is from here) in a time of 32:04. Congrats to all who took part, and to those that organised for Millstreet Athletic Club. Below are lots of photos and results from the evening.

Operation Transformation 2017
Operation Transformation 2017 is well under way. The annual walk will start tomorrow evening at 7.30pm in Supervalu O’Keefe Millstreet car-park. This is being run by the Millstreet Athletics Club and a huge thanks to them. Refreshments afterwards. All recipes and weekly shopping list are all available in store. Millstreet Athletic Club – County B Cross Country Championships
County B Cross Country Championships took place 1st November in Conna and we came home with great results and lots of medals.
Seamus Moynihan finished in 3rd position U9. Donal Bourke finished 2nd position
U13 and Caoimhe O’Leary finished 2nd U15. Shannon Bourke just missing out on a medal finishing 7th U9, Donnacha Murphy finished 8th U13 as well as Gemma O’Regan 8th U15.
Our U11 team was made up of Clara O’Keeffe, Ciara O’Sullivan, Rebecca O’Sullivan, Madison Gallahue-Murphy and Meave Buckley. Ethan Walsh ran U11 finishing 36th.
Our boys U13 finished 3rd team made up of Donnacha Murphy, Donal Bourke, Darragh Moynihan, Ian Buckley and Joshua Jumbo.
Girls U13 team came home with gold medals made up of Cathy Kiely, Eimear O’Leary, Brianna Gallahue-Murphy and Megan Kiely.
Girls U15 team also won gold medals consisting of Caoimhe O’Leary, Gemma O’Regan, Emma Moynihan and Sarah Bourke.
Well done to Dan Bourke who also competed in the Masters event and ran a great race.

Millstreet Athletic Club would like to thank everyone who supported our road race on Friday night from the sponsors, stewards and the local Gardai to all the runners and walkers. It was lovely to see so many people in the town and along the route. It was a great success and a very enjoyable evening. Thank you to Geraldine Dennehy for the excellent photography.

Millstreet AC results from the County Track and Field Championships
A huge congratulations to Aoife Casey who finished 3rd U9 300m and to Jenny Kelleher who finished 2nd U12 80m at the County B Track and Field Championships recently held at CIT. They both ran great races and were delighted that their hard work paid off. Well done girls.
Also representing the club were Patrick Cronin, Louise Lyons, Shauna O’Connor, Taragh Casey, Ian Buckley, James Buckley, Daniel Buckley, Eanna O’Mahony, Aoife O’Connor, Jamie Kelleher, Donal Bourke, Jason Carroll, Conor Casey, Sean Linehan, Emma Lehane, Muireann Cronin, Cathy Buckley, Clara O’Keeffe, Maeve Buckley, Ciara O’Sullivan and Rebecca O’Sullivan.
Also well done to Emma Lehane who represented the Club at the Munster Track and Field Championships in Ennis recently.
