Listener’s Choice Presentation Tonight in CODMDC at 8.15

Millstreet Gramophone Circle Presentation will take place tonight – Friday, 19th April 2024 at 8.15pm in the Canon O’Donovan Day Centre, Clara Road, Millstreet.     Everyone is very welcome.  This is the second last Presentation of the current season and it is a Listener’s Choice programme where we share the musical choices of many of those attending.  (S.R.)

Millstreet Gramophone Circle Presentation by Paddy Murphy, Tullig, Millstreet will take place on Friday, 15th March 2024 at 8.15pm in the Canon O’Donovan Day Centre, Clara Road, Millstreet. There will be a Kerry theme throughout Paddy’s programme on this occasion. Everyone is very welcome.

Wonderfully Enjoyable Gramophone Presentation by Tim Murphy

Last Friday night’s Millstreet Gramophone Circle Presentation (17th Nov. 2023) by Tim Murphy, Boherbue was most enjoyable and very much appreciated by the large audience who loved the variety and range of musical choices presented.   One of my favourites was Tim’s playing of a recording by the Duhallow Choir entitled “The Beautiful Hills of Duhallow”.   Our special Christmas Presentation on Friday, 8th December 2023 at 8.15pm is by Pat McCarron of Bandon.   Here we share a selection of images from last Friday’s splendid occasion.   Tap on the pictures to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Tim Murphy (on right) was very pleased with the positive reaction…..especially with our monthly venue at the Canon O’Donovan Millstreet Day Centre which we all regard as ideal for the Musical Presentations. We epecially thank Marie and Jacob at the Centre for helping to prepare the venue.

Millstreet Gramophone Circle Presentation Deferred Until 15th September 2023

Due to the significant weather warning for later this Friday evening we have decided to cancel this evening’s Millstreet Gramophone Circle meeting. Anne McCarthy of Boherbue has very kindly agreed to present her much anticipated Programme of Music, Song and Chat on Friday, 15th September 2023 at 8.15pm in the Canon O’Donovan Day Centre, Clara Road, Millstreet. Sincere apologies that we have had to defer Anne’s MGC Presentation until September but in the interest of safety it was felt it was the correct decision….I shall give a reminder of Anne’s Presentation closer to 15th Sept……Every good wish…..Seán Radley🎼🙏

Millstreet Gramophone Circle Presentation on Friday 19th May 2023

Celebrating the Festival of Bealtaine 2023 – Millstreet Gramophone Circle Presentation by Con Kelleher, Cloghoulabeg, Millstreet will take place on Friday, 19th May at 8.15pm in the Canon O’Donovan Day Centre, Clara Road, Millstreet.   Originally (as appears in the Bealtaine  2023 Brochure) the event had been scheduled for Friday, 12th May but it was necessary to defer the date to 19th May.  Everyone is very welcome and admission is free of charge.  (S.R.)

Con’s Superb Musical Presentation at Gramophone Circle

Con Kelleher of Cloghoulabeg, Millstreet (pictured on extreme left) presented a truly magnificent programme of music, song and poetry at Friday night’s Millstreet Gramophone Circle in Millstreet Day Care Centre. A special word of thanks also to Helen, Mary and Teresa for very kindly donating attractive prizes for our Draw. Next presentation is in September with details being announced later. Boherbue’s “Music Room” Presentation Cancelled This Thursday

Christmas Presentation at Millstreet Gramophone Circle Tonight

Superb Response to Millstreet Gramophone Circle Programme

On Friday, 12th Oct. 2018 Millstreet Gramophone Circle held its monthly meeting at the splendid Halloween decorated Millstreet Day Care Centre where a full programme of recordings, song and music was presented before a large appreciative audience.  Oftentimes we are asked what type of programme is shared.  So illustrated below is the programme which I presented last night.   Each presenter shares different selections on other nights.  It will be Maurice Linehan who presents at “The Music Room” in Boherbue on Thursday, 1st Nov. 2018.   Click on the images below to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Millstreet Gramophone Circle Presentation Tonight at 8:15

Next “Radio Treasures” on Tuesday 10th July from 9:30 until 11:00pm

There is no transmission of “Radio Treasures” on Tuesday 3rd July on www.corkmusicstation.com.   Broadcasts will resume on Tues., 10th July at 9:30pm when we shall feature lots of superb music and song as well as interesting interviews at 10:00pm.  We shall be referring also to recent events such as the recent Circuit of Ireland Rally Stages Revisited where lots of Ford Escorts appeared (as illustrated below) and we shall chat about the June presentation by Joe Kennelly at Millstreet Gramophone Circle (also illustrated here).   The next Gramophone Circle presentation takes place on our national Culture Night on 21st September and will be given by Maurice Linehan.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Tim Murphy presented a superb programme of music and song at “The Music Room” in Boherbue on Thursday, 5th April 2018.   To mark the season one of Tim’s excellent tracks was “Easter Parade” with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire.  Here we share some images from the very enjoyable occasion which was attended by many people despite the very wet weather.  Millstreet Gramophone Circle’s next presentation is by Ivor Horton on Friday, 20th April 2018.  (S.R.) Margaret Presented Superb Programme at Gramophone Circle

On Friday, 23rd March 2018 it was Margaret Moynihan of Killarney Road, Millstreet who presented a truly magnificent selection of songs and music at our Gramophone Circle.   The capacity audience was especially impressed by the 1990s recording of a live concert in Italy which featured the late Luciano Pavarotti and the late Dolores O’Riordan in an exquisite duet of “Ave Maria”.  Here we share two images from the very enjoyable event which shows just a section of the attendance with Margaret holding the CD.  Click on the pictures to enlarge.  (S.R.)
