Proceeds from the Tractor Run will assist Millstreet Day Care Centre which provides a diverse range of services and facilities for the betterment of the entire Millstreet community and catchment area. Preparatory work to initiate the project began in the early 1990s under a progressive council headed by Chairman, the late Dr. Michael Feeley and Secretary, the late Christy Fitzgerald.

Operated by the voluntary Millstreet District Housing Group in conjunction with the HSE, the successful project was the culmination of a great deal of detailed planning and hard work. The attention to detail was second to none and the building is now finished to the highest standards.

The centre was officially opened by the then President Mary Robinson in 1994 and over the years, it has provided meals, discussions, nursing and health services to social and recreational outlets much to the satisfaction and enjoyment of patrons.
