It has been such a very great privilege knowing the late Pat O’Keeffe since 1968 when we all began our training as National Teachers in St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, Dublin. We both began our teaching careers in Hollypark N.S., Newgrange Road, Blackrock, Dublin. Recipient of the highly prestigious Vere Foster Medal in 1970 Pat was such a superbly inspirational Teacher, a True Gentleman, Friend Supreme to many, superbly caring and immensely supportive. Our treasured friendship with Pat, his wonderful wife, Breda and his outstanding daughter, Grace as well as with the extended O’Keeffe and Walsh Family members has blossomed throughout the years. In memory of the late highly regarded and respected Pat we shall pay a very special Tribute to our esteemed Colleague and Greatest of Friends – Pat O’Keeffe of Garryvoe in beautiful East Cork – on our “Radio Treasures” programme on www.corkmusicstation.com at 9.30pm on this coming Tuesday, 6th February 2024.
