The Lighthouse in Millstreet

The Lighthouse in Millstreet is part of the Methodist Church in Ireland. We’re a group of Christians who meet to worship Jesus every Sunday night at 6.30pm and for Bible study on Tuesday night at 7.30pm. We’re reading John’s gospel at the moment on Tuesday nights. The Minister Rev. Karen is a trained Spiritual Director. All are welcome.

 

 

Christmas at the Lighthouse

The Lighthouse, Millstreet is excited to publish this year’s Christmas events:

During advent we will extend our normal opening time so that we will be open Thursday mornings 9.30am-12-30pm and each Saturday in December 1pm-4pm.

We have a selection of Christmas gifts, cards, books and CD’s.

We continue with themed informal bible study each Tuesday at 7.30pm new comers welcome.

Our advent services are held each Sunday evening at 6.30pm Sunday service on 13th December will include a live Nativity.

Carol service on 20th December will be held outside in the square where we invite anyone to come along and join in the celebration, followed by tea and mince pies.

Our Christmas service will be at the Lighthouse at 6.30pm on 24th December. Prayers will be said for all Millstreet residents during this time. If you have a particular need that you would like us to include in our prayers please feel free to call in or drop a note or just a name or initial through the door.

Christian Aid’s 70th Birthday, Cake Sale

The Lighthouse is helping to celebrate the charity Christian Aid’s 70th Birthday this week. The world renowned charity has been working to assist the poor and the needy globally for the past 70 years. Poverty continues to blight the world’s poorest nations alongside other major issues such as human trafficking, suppression of women’s rights and major diseases such as Malaria and HIV. Christian Aid continues to work hard to bring to an end to poverty with the support of Church groups across Ireland.

Lighthouse spokesperson for the event, Suzie Gallagher, explained that on Saturday 16th May The Lighthouse will hold a cake sale at Coleman’s Centra Millstreet. “We intend to sell 70 individual cakes with a personal message of thanks to celebrate and support the continued work of Christian Aid.
