“Ironman 70.3” at Youghal, Co. Cork last weekend was hugely challenging for its many Competitors. Two dedicated Participants sadly died while taking part – Brendan Wall and Ivan Chittenden. All those who took part in the event on extending their sincere sympathy to the Family and Friends of the two gentlemen were very much aware of what a blessing it was to safely complete the challenge. One of those very courageous and brave Participants was the wonderfully fit Tom Murphy of Millstreet. We thank Tom’s parents from Tullig, Millstreet for sharing the attached images of the occasion. Incidentally the “70.3” reference in the title name indicates that the full “Ironman” challenge on a world scale is, thanks to information from Hannelie, double this 70.3 distance at 140.6 miles.
