Age Friendly Short Story competition

CORK COUNTY COUNCIL LIBRARY AND ARTS SERVICE

 

  • Write a dementia-friendly short story of fewer than 800 words.
  • Stories fully complete within the word count, should be easy to follow with a beginning, middle and an end – and with an uplifting theme!”
  • Stories must be accompanied by this entry form.
  • Entry form must not be attached to the story.
  • Post it to Cork County Library, Carrigrohane Road, Cork T12K335
  • Alternatively email to corkcountylibrary @corkcoco.ie

·       The winning story will receive a €50 euro book-token and there will be two runner-up prizes of a €30 book-token.

  • The winning stories and a short-list will be included in our collection of dementia-friendly short readings “Come Sit awhile Volume 2” as part of our Age-Friendly Programme.

Thank you from Millstreet Vintage Club Car Run

Millstreet Vintage Club held the annual Johnny Hickey Memorial Car Run on Sunday 9th March with proceeds going to the local SVP-St Vincent De Paul. Kevin Noonan Clerk of the course & Millstreet Vintage Club would like to thank everyone who came and showed their support on the day. It was a fantastic turnout. Kevin would like to thank Connie Hickey & staff at The Bush Bar for their hospitality in the morning, Noel C Duggans for their use of parking facilities, St Vincent De Paul volunteer’s for attending & giving a hand, Bike Marshall, photographers & Videographer’s, all Marshalls for their help on the day, sign on crew, Guards for their help with traffic management, pipe band for attending & SuperValu Boherbue for their parking facility. Huge thanks to D&F tyres and servicing, Dennehy Motorsport & Twomeys Butchers for their sponsorship. Well Done to the winners that won the prizes.
