Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this glorious Tuesday morning.

A very successful meeting was held at St Joseph’s Gardens on Thursday last. Organised by the social services, it was  attended by representatives of Respond , members of many of our local  voluntary organisations, as well as residents This first meeting of the group was chaired by Steve Kelly Community worker with the HSE. Many interesting topics were discussed but its main function was to promote more liaison between the residents and the Millstreet community at large. 19 of the 32 apartments are now occupied.

Next meeting will be held on September 2nd.

Annual Mass at St. John’s Well this Thursday June 24th at 8pm.

And on Sunday 27th they have a climb of Mushera mountain taking off at 2pm

Mass will be celebrated this Friday evening June 25th at 7pm in our Parish Church to mark  the Golden Jubilee of Fr. Paddy O Byrne.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in our church every Wednesday from 10,30 am to 8.30 pm.  Drop in any time.

An important notice here from IRD Duhallow, They are holding their first of many meetings to-morrow Wednesday night June 23rd.its all about that important subject of growing your own. Its open to beginners, experts,  and those willing to learn. All are invited. It will be held at the James O Keeffe Institute starting at 8. for details contact Katie 02960633.

Last minute reminder of the Knock Summer Youth Festival. It’s on from June 25t to 27th. for 18 to 35 yr olds only. Bus can be arranged from Macroom and Millstreet. Contact John Mc Carthy, Macroom, 02623601 or 086 88 18 348.

Please be reminded that our state of the art recycling centre is now taking Domestic Waste, as well as the usual host of other sorted material.

They will take Household waste, old carpets, mattresses, 3-piece suites etc.

Their hours are,  Sunday and Mondays  Closed,  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday opened from 9am to 4.30 pm . Friday 9am to 3.30 and on Saturdays from 9am to 2.30pm. Telephone 029 30971. Summer holidays are approaching fast and our Library’s have come up with a novel idea of how to keep children reading while the schools are closed. They will get a chart to start off with, and each time they take or return a book, they will get a sticker, they then colour the design on the chart and these will be on display on the library walls after the holidays. Lots of fun coming up in Rathcoole according to Alfie Cooney . On this Saturday they have a six-a-side Soccer Tournament, a Tournament for over 35s  and next day Sunday June 27th they have a fun-for-all day, starting at 1.30.

The lovely weather is bringing people out into the great out of doors. On Sunday last our beautiful Country Park did great business with lots of special offers for Fathers Day. Look up their web-site for their changes in programs, and special offers.

Theres a request from our Tidy Towns committee asking people to water the flowers and hanging baskets in their areas.

Months Mind Mass will be said at Derinagree Church ,for the late Bridie O Connor, nee O’Sullivan Cullen , on to-morrow Wednesday night at 8pm .

Millstreet overcame Newmarket in the Duhallow U14 Hurling Championship semi final and will meet Kanturk or Dromtariffe in Banteer on Sunday at 7.45pm.

On Saturday, Millstreet hosts the Duhallow Junior A Football C’Ship meeting of Lyre and Knocknagree at 8pm.

Here are the results of this week’s parish lotto draw which was held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Sunday night.
