Many thanks to Presenter, John Greene, for providing us with advance information regarding this evening’s programme. (S.R.)
This week on “Where the road takes me”, John Greene brings you the 3rd and final programme on the sinking of passenger ship Lusitania off the Old Head of Kinsale on May 7th 1915.
This week……
* We pay a visit to Cobh to look at the role played by local Cunard
official Jerome Murphy and the people of the town, in the aftermath of the
sinking.
* We conclude the poignant story of one Cork passenger – Julia
o’Neill from Rosscarbery.
* We look at the scapegoating of Captain William Turner, and by
using extracts from his war diary, we get the thoughts and actions of German
submarine commander Walther Schweiger – prior to, during and after the
sinking.
Where the road takes me – this Sunday evening at 7 on C103.
