On this historic day, the twenty fifth anniversary of Eurovision Millstreet, our website is full of pictures, reminding us of the heady days that put us on the world map, and twenty five years on we are still well remembered for it. Thanks to Noel C Duggan, his family, and indeed to our wonderful community.

And this morning I can answer the question that you have all been asking, yes, the Daniel O Donnell and Majella Road Show which was anchored in my own humble B&B on St. Patrick’s Day, will be screened next Tuesday night May 22nd at 8.30 on RTE1. I only got the final confirmation of the date yesterday.
There was a vast program of outdoor events held here this past weekend. A steam train breezed through our Station on Saturday and lots of people went to see the old familiar sight. On Sunday morning our Town Square was packed with vintage tractors, before they left in convoy to go on the mountain road to Shrone. Next came what seemed a never ending line of vintage cars on the Macroom Road and headed for Killarney. Followed by a long line of thundering motor bikes. And all were blessed by bright sunny day, the spectacle raised the spirits of all who saw it.
Our Active Retired Group held their Bealtaine Tea Dance at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Sunday afternoon and it was attended by Groups from many parts of the region. Music was provided by the well known Peter Lane and a great time was had by all.
The children of Cloghoula School were blessed with fine weather on Saturday when they got their first Holy Communion in Ballydaly Church. Next Saturday thirty eight little children from the town schools will receive theirs in Millstreet ,Mass starting at 11. We wish them all and their families , Gods Love and Blessings in the future.
On Sunday next the annual Cloghoula Pattern Day will be held in the School Grounds, Always a great day, and your support would be appreciated.
We wish the lovely Norah Hickey every success with her new single ,“Keep it Country”.
The people of Aubane will celebrate 270 years of the Butter Raod at a gala Banquet which will be held at the social Club on this Friday night.
The Holy Rosary continues at Tubrid Well every evening during the Month of May, starts at 8 and all are welcome. The annual Mass will be said there at the end of the month.
All are invited to an open day at Millsteet Hospital on Sunday May 27th from 2-4pm.
