Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a Chairde and welcome to my weekly report.
It is indeed an exciting day for me, and for everyone really, with the Daniel and Majella Road Show coming on screen tonight, on at 8.30 on RTE One. I hope that everybody will enjoy RTE’s covering of their visit to Millstreet on St.Patrick’s Day.
As part of Feile na Bealtaine, lots of our Retired Group are joining Jack Roche’s Mystery Tour today. It never fails to deliver and even though I’ve never been on it, I always say I will, and DV I will. We wish them fine weather, hope they have a great time.
The sun shone on all the hundreds of people who attended the First Holy Communion of 38 little children in Millstreet Church on Saturday last. There wasn’t an empty seat in the Church. It was a beautiful ceremony, led by Canon John FitzGerald, with the children playing a big part in the readings and singing. Joined by the other children of the schools, their angelic voices filled the air. Afterwards some light refreshments were served in the GAA Hall. And the variety of people from many lands gave the occasion a feeling of world peace and unity.
Well done to all those who worked so hard to make their First Holy Communion Day so memorable for them.
The monthly Community Council Meeting was held on Tuesday night and it was very well attended. Among other things, all the business of running the Youth Complex was discussed. Marie Twomey gave her account of the sale of the calendars. And it was decided to give the church choir €1,000 from the proceeds. Sarah McSweeney gave her views on the project which will be held instead of the Millstreet Got Talent of last year. This time she suggested a Come Dine With Me feature. And the idea was highly welcomed. Plans to be drawn up after the Summer Break.

Great to see you on Daniel and Majella B and B Road Show. I haven’t seen you in a few years but it’s younger you’re looking. How do you do it.
