We thank Presenter John Greene for advance information on this evening’s programme. (S.R.)
Born in Kilnap Place in Farranree on the Northside of Cork City, Liam P
Foley was credited with promoting Irish music and dancing enormously in his
native City and County.
This week on Where the road takes me John Greene discovers a unique
character who laid down stringent rules and regulations that were definitely
non-negotiable.
Collar and tie had to be worn, no alcohol consumed, and no close dancing was
allowed, but still the punters flocked to his dances in the fifties, sixties
and seventies.
Also…….
We pay a visit to the Mizen Peninsula
to hear about match-making, customs, traditions and characters.
Where the road takes me – this Sunday evening at 7 – on C103.
