We thank Presenter John Greene for advance information re this evening’s programme. (S.R.)
Not a lot of people are aware that the second biggest animal in the world is
only a short distance from our homes. The Fin Whale, next to the Blue Whale is the biggest animal in the world, and regularly patrols the West Cork coast in search of food. On this week’s edition of Where the road takes me, John Greene takes to the sea in search of Fin, Humpback and Minke Whales.
Along with members of the Irish Whale and Dolphin group we head south off the Seven Heads Peninsula on board the Lady Patricia, a thirty eight foot Aqua Star owned by Mark Gannon, who operates Atlantic Whale and Wildlife tours out of Courtmacsherry. The weather is superb, the sea is calm and the local marine wildlife are ready to perform.
Where the road takes me – this Sunday evening at 7 on C103.
