New principal welcomed at Kilcorney National School (The Corkman – 2005).
Following many wonderful years of truly dedicated service in the world of Primary Education we extend heartfelt best wishes to Con Meade for a very fulfilling, healthy and supremely Happy Retirement. I had the privilege of teaching on the same staff as Con in St. Patrick’s N.S., Mallow from 1975 to 1980. Always so obliging, witty and inspirationally dedicated to his teaching vocation Con very much enhanced the uplifting spirit of the schools in Mallow and in Kilcorney. His guidance of the pupils in areas, for example, as local history with wonderfully prepared visits to such locations as Millstreet Museum, was exemplary. Kilcorney N.S., under Con’s leadership, has always been very supportive of our Museum work. This has indeed been much appreciated. Undoubtedly it will be a busy retirement for Con considering his consistent community spirit involvement. And sincere congratulations also to Photographer Supreme, Geraldine Dennehy on such magnificent photographs taken on Con’s recent Retirement Reception in Kilcorney.
