Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chairde, and welcome to my report.
Many congratulations to our Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Group on reaching their fortieth anniversary. They celebrated the event at a gala ball at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Saturday night and while others reveled to the sounds of Rod Steward at Pairc U Caoimh our youngsters thrilled us with beautiful Trad Music, dancing and singing , with a few All Ireland Champions among them. People like the late Jerry Gleeson and Neil Healy were recalled as being amongst founders of this great organisation which has done so much for our Irish Culture and for our young people over the years. It’s in good hands now and long may it continue to flourish. Well done to all involved.
And to get back to Rod Stewart, it was an extra thrill for the fans to see the World winning Cullen Pipe Band on stage with the great artiste. Heartiest congratulations to Connie Houlihan and his members on this great scoop.

It’s a sad day for us in Millstreet as we mourn the loss of our beloved medical doctor, Michael Feeley, following a long illness. As well as being our doctor, he took an active role in the everyday running of Millstreet. He was in the chair of the Community Council when we hosted the EuroVision Song Contest and he was the one who put in motion, the building of our Sheltered housing Complex.
We offer offer our sincere sympathy to his wife Mary and Family. May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.
