Eily’s Report – 18th June

Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chairde, and welcome to my report.A very important meeting of our Bowling Club will be held at the Men’s Shed tonight starting at 7.30.  The bowling club is organised by the Active Retired Group and members of the Men’s Shed. All are welcome to tonight’s meeting. Please give it your best support .Mass will be said at Drishane Cemetery this evening commencing at 7:30 pm. Mass in Cullen Cemetery on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm. Mass at St. John’s Well June 24th at 8 pm.

A very successful two day pony show was held at the Green Glens Complex at the weekend. And from July 8 -14 inclusive we will see the return of the I.M.G.A Mounted Games Championships. As confirmed by their representative Conor O Leary in the following message –

“Mounted Games are again coming to Millstreet this year, this time with a larger competition than before. This time we will host the European Team Championships, from Sunday the 7th to Sunday the 14th of July, which will include over 350 riders from right across Europe, ranging in age from U12 to adult. The memories of Millstreet 2016 have created a huge expectation and excitement towards this years competition, and any competition abroad we go to all they talk about is coming to Millstreet.”    The website for the competition can be found at  https://imgaeuros2019.com/

Muintir na Tíre has been allocated funding by the Department of Rural and Community Development to install Carbon Monoxide alarms in the homes of elderly and vulnerable persons free of charge. These alarms may become available in the Millstreet Area. If interested please contact Dan on 0876893378

Millstreet Community Council is inviting representatives of Pubs, Clubs, Groups, Organisations, Businesses and Individuals interested in participating in Culture Night on Friday September 20th (the Annual All of Ireland celebration of culture, creativity and the arts) to a meeting in the Wallis Arms Hotel on Wednesday June 26th at 8 pm.

It’s that time again when Gertie and Maurice O’Donoghue will hold an open day at their Prize winning Garden at Carrignavar in aid of MaryMount Hospice. Its open from 2-6 on Sunday June 23rd. The venue will be signposted on the Mallow/Cork road at Rathduff.

Here are the results of this weeks lotto draw which was held at McCarthy’s Bar on Sun. night. Numbers drawn 17,23,24,30 and the jackpot was not won.

€100 went to Sadbh Kelleher Macroom the seller was Eily Buckley and she got €50 sellers prize. €50 went to Catherine and Chelsea Cleary Clara rd. €20 each went to Gobnait Kelleher, Aubane. Noreen O Mahony, Incheleagh. Aoibhe, Kate and Holly c/o McCarthy’s Bar. Mary and Frank Naughton, Cullen. Donie and Kathleen Kelleher, Kelcro. Karen Stanley, Kilmeedy. Jack and Emma Ducey. Our Nutella Mom c/o of Michelle Wheelan. Jackpot for next week is €3,800, Draw will be at the Clara Inn Sunday night.

Next Sunday June the 23rd is the feast of Corpus Christy the annual procession will begin and finish in the Church with Benediction in the square all are invited to join with a special invitation to all the First Holy Communion children of the Parish.

Coffee morning in aid of Millstreet Hospital and Cope Mallow will be held on Sunday June the 23rd at the Aroma Café from 10-1pm all support greatly appreciated.

Millstreet Library will host a talk by Stella O Malley, best selling Author of Bully/ proof Kids, on tomorrow Wednesday June 19th  From 2 pm.

Cullen District and Special Needs Association will hold there annual Harvest afternoon on Sunday, July 21st. Laitiarain Sun.

Eucharist Adoration in Millstreet every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:30 am to 10:30 pm. In Cullen on Thursdays 10 am – 7 pm. In Ballydaly on Saturdays 10:30- 12:30.

Confessions in Millstreet every Saturday from 12:30- 1pm.
