She returned to Cork from Ayrfield in Dublin only last year:
Sr. Kathleen Day IJS will be leaving us and returning to her native Cork on Sunday 20th January, 2019. Sr. Kathleen’s leaving was marked with a small celebration in the Pastoral Centre, on Thursday, 10th January, after the 10am mass. We thank her for her great contribution to our Parish since she arrived in the 70’s:
“Over the years I have been in many parishes at home and abroad. I can honestly say that in my years in St. Paul’s Ayrfield, I have experienced a very caring, prayerful and devoted community. In good times and bad, I’ve seen families and individuals experience what it means to be supported in times of need. I take the liberty to quote Pope Francis:
“I remember the past with gratitude. I live the present with enthusiasm. I look forward to the future with confidence.” This is my wish and prayer for each one. Let us pray for one another and for Faith for today, Hope for tomorrow and Love always. In gratitude; Sr. Kathleen Day IJS”

We thank you for your prayers for Sr Kathleen Day and Sr Ann Breen. Both of them were in their late 80s and for us, they have both lived a full life with great generosity, courage and faith. For them, it is a celebration of life, a life well lived for God and for the people they serve with love and passion. Parting and the loss of someone we love is always hard but we believe that when our journey on this earth is completed, we return to our God, who truly loves us and welcomes us home. [ijs]
