  1. The truly magnificent Video Tribute in memory of Eileen Cotter by Millstreet Presentation N.S. beautifully demonstrates the enormous regard, respect and friendship we all had for the wonderful Eileen. R.I.P.. It was such a very real privilege to have been a member of the same Primary School Staff as Eileen. She so enriched our lives through her inspiring dedication, her superb humour and her desire to always think of others. It’s so appropriate that the picture used (taken in Clara Road, Millstreet April 2011) shows Eileen with her ever loyal pet dog “Buddy”. Her splendid example of kindness to animals forever shone. And shining brightly also was her concern to uplift the spirits of all whom she met. One instance of this most admirable quality was often illustrated towards her marvellous American Cousin – James Wickham from Minnesota -when Jim would be in Millstreet for his twice annual visit and would be having breakfast at “Cinnamon” in West End. Eileen on her way to work at Presentation N.S. always took time to call in to greet Jim and to share uplifting news of the day. There are so many other examples of Eileen’s sincere kindness and magnificent empathy with the many children in her wonderful care. Eileen has hugely enriched all our lives in such a special manner in so many different ways. May her gentle Soul rest in her Heavenly Home. Sincere condolences to All the Family for whom this very sad time is so challenging. Eileen – you will forever be in our hearts dear Friend Supreme. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dhílis.

  3. My tribute to Eileen by Cousin James Wickham, Minnesota, USA.

“And when the Wheel of Life runs down
    And peace comes over me
Oh lay me down in Millstreet Town
Between the hills and the sea
I’ll take my sleep in those green fields
    The place my life began”

  4. Where old Clara Mountain as ever looks down
A dear friend to many people in Millstreet and Millstreet Town
Eileen Cotter from life has prematurely passed away
So sad to learn she has lived her last night and day

One of a large family a daughter to Jimmy and Mary her praises deserve to be sung
In her case it is true the good do die young
To many in Millstreet a dear and trusting friend
And sadly her life’s journey for her has come to an end

In Millstreet one who had gained many friends through the years
And her passing from life would not have gone without tears
In her she had love, compassion and empathy
All who knew or knew of her with this could only agree

For good in the Human World one who did sow the seed
And of many more people like Eileen was of humanity is in need
The Human World in need of more people who for others do care
Far too many of their own needs are only aware

Eileen Cotter was one not destined to grow old
But the story of her life deserves for to be told
In her lifetime for the betterment of humanity good seeds she did sow
She was one who had in her the bright inner glow.
