The pupils and staff in St. Brendan’s N.S. Rathcoole took part in Active Home Week last week. They completed the Toilet Roll Challenge. It was a lovely way to motivate each other to get active and to unite our pupils and staff during this time. Have a look at what they got up to in the video below:
As a teacher, retired, I fell in complete love with this video. Beautifully done. Thank you for the uplift……and bravo to all the parents who are making it so much fun for the “shelter-in-place” duration. Not easy at all. But, Bravo to them nonetheless…..
Good Morning Anne!
I am subscribed to the Millstreet website. My grandmother was from Cork City and emmigrated to the US in 1917 with some of her family members. I have been working on the geneology of our family and was wondering if you could be a relative. My great grandparents were: John Duggan and Rebecca(Campion) Duggan from Cork. They had 12 children: John, Denis, Kate, Ellen, Rebbeca, Anna, my grandmother, Francis, Charles, Daniel, Christopher, and Cornellius. Do they sound familiar to you? My husband and I are retired high school teachers from New Mexico and are now living in Phoenix, Arizona. We plan on a visit to Ireland in a year or two. thank you for any help. Rita and Mike Holsten

Good Morning to you, Mike and Rebecca. The link below your message is the best place to start. The website managers are also excellent and thoroughly knowledgable in guiding you in the right direction. I live way out here in Texas and have been gone from the homeland for many decades. Good luck in your search and when you visit Ireland in a year or two be sure you visit the lovely Millstreet Town. It is vibrant and widely known for being a Tidy Town, its wonderful Horse Shows and friendly people.
