Traditional music in Ireland is very much part of our culture.
Beginning this Sunday on Where the road takes me, and in a series entitled ‘Traditional Music – The Makers & Collectors’, John Greene meets some of the finest traditional musicians in the country.
Members of the Dwyer family, Matt Cranitch, Jackie Daly, Mary Bergin and Frankie Gavin will join us.
And we look into the life of Canon James Goodman, the Church of Ireland Clergyman and staunch Unionist, who compiled over 2,300 Traditional tunes.
