A FEW WORDS OF ENCOURAGMENT

This weekend we are once again facing a time of uncertainty as a community, Parish and country.  We are experiencing such a range of emotions and everyone is fearful of this virus coming into our lives and homes and the affect it would have on our loved ones and on ourselves. During the month of October let us pray to Our Lady for the strength and courage we need and let the words of Pope Francis be a daily reminder of how much we have to offer those who may need it.

“Rivers to not drink their own water;

Trees do not eat their own fruit;

The sun does not shine on itself and

Flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves.

Living for others is a rule of nature.

We are all born to help each other.

No matter how difficult it is……….

Life is good when you are happy;

But much better when others are happy because of you.”

(Pope Francis)

This weekend is called Mission Sunday and while we associate this day traditionally with the work carried out by our priests, nuns and lay people in poorer parts of the world perhaps this year we should embrace it as a day when we look out for the venerable in our community and Parish and extend a helping hand and a hand of friendship.
