My dear parishioners,
It has been great to have the Church open again for Mass & to greet the people of the various Station Districts & celebrate Mass together. The regulations allow us only to have 50 in the church and it is very confining but please God in the New Year we will be able to gather again in prayer as a larger community.
Christmas is coming near us & to accommodate people as well as we can, from & including Sunday 13th to Sunday 27th we will have Mass in each church everyday according to the rota accompanying this. We will celebrate God’s merciful forgiveness at the start of Mass & please use your area Mass as an invaluable opportunity to receive Holy Communion for Christmas. Within the constrictions imposed on us we hope that we will still be flexible enough to celebrate the coming of Jesus into human history. For both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Masses, so that as many as possible and to be fair to everyone we will stream the Mass into every home that has a computer, smartphone or laptop. The youth are our experts here and the code is included on the rota of Masses. Derrinagree Mass will be at 7.30pm on Christmas Eve & Dromagh Mass on Christmas Day at 10.30am. The church of the home has always been important & so we hope that all families will be able to gather together at home & spend that hour in prayer with all the parish. The church will be closed for these Masses as we could not turn people away once 50 was reached.
Our thanks to our wonderful parishioners who have been very accommodating & supportive. So many volunteers have done trojan work. Thanks. Please God although Christmas is different this year it will still be a joyful & marvellous occasion as we contemplate Our God come among us.
Praise & glory to our God, Hosanna in the highest.
Wishing you all a happy, holy & safe Christmas
Fr Tom
