- Our 10pm Main Feature tonight brings us back to Monday, 17th March 1980 for the official Opening of Millstreet Museum – Listen to recordings from that morning’s St. Patrick’s Day Mass, the Parade (including the drumming of the late John “Sing” O’Sullivan). That afternoon we hear our introduction to the historic event where we greet “The Millstreet Rovers”, Cork Co. Librarian – Pádraig Ó Maidín who officially opened the Museum, Fr. John B. O’Sullivan who blessed the Museum. All recordings from 40 years ago! And we remember the late Catherine Tarrant one of the Founder Members of Millstreet Museum who was laid to rest this afternoon. R.I.P..
- We listen to the musical hits of 1980 including Frank Sinatra, ABBA, Dolly Parton and more.
- We recall the many famous people who have visited our Museum over the past 40 years – illustrated below.
