Eileen Murphy (née O’Leary), Louisville, Kentucky & Adrivale, Millstreet

We extend our sincere sympathy to Eileen’s daughter, Megan and to all the O’Leary Family of Louisville, Kentucky, USA on the very sad departure of Eileen Murphy to Eternal Heavenly Reward.  R.I.P..  Eileen was a True Lady of the very highest calibre – caring, optimistic, witty, friendly, spiritual, generous and sincere.  We had the great privilege of meeting with Eileen during her October 2019 visit to Millstreet.   She felt so much at home here and was especially thrilled to visit Adrivale from where her ancestors emigrated to USA some five generations ago.   She was so looking forward to revisiting Millstreet with her brother Michael and Elwood later this year.  It was Eileen’s brother, Patrick W. O’Leary who established such wonderfully strong links with Millstreet which have been growing stronger and stronger over the years to the extent that the Family has been so generously supportive of so many Millstreet (and Macroom) Projects.  On this Tuesday on Cork Music Station we shall broadcast a special tribute to Eileen on “Radio Treasures” to which she was a weekly Loyal Listener.  Mass will be celebrated for Eileen in St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet on Tuesday, 2nd February 2021 at 7.30pm and this may be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/millstreet

  1. I worked with Eileen for many, many years at CVA at the Barrett Avenue and Springs office until her resignation. She was extremely positive and cared deeply about her patients.
