“Lunchtime Favourites” Sunday 14th Feb. 2021 – 12.30 to 1.30pm

We invite you to submit your Requests for our weekly Music Request Show “Lunchtime Favourites” (Sunday, 14th Feb. 2021) on Cork Music Station which is broadcast today from 12:30pm until 1.30pm.  Being St. Valentine’s Day our musical focus will of course be on “Love” with songs by Al Jolson, ABBA, Perry Como, Nat King Cole, Doris Day, Marilyn Monroe…and lots more.

 This is our seventh Lunchtime programme of 2021 where our songs and music are full of variety.   We feature songs by Breeda Tarrant (one we recently discovered recorded at Tarrant’s Bridge Bar in 2012), Jim Lyons, Colin Paul, The Taylor Brothers, Mallow’s Thomas Davis Pipe Band…plus the music of the Alan Finn Group, André Rieu, James Last, Mantovani and lots more.  Just email your requests anytime either to corkmusicstation @gmail.com OR to millstreetmuseum @gmail.com or text/WhatsApp to 086 825 0074.   Or check out the Seán Radley Facebook Page.  And we chat about these images below from the years 1995, 2000, 2004 and 2021 (sourced from Millstreet Museum Pictorial Archives) during our Show. From the year 2004 we see Jimmy O’Sullivan checking out the Lambretta Scooter observed by John Twomey, Noel Keating and Ronan Galvin.
From the year 2000 Joan O’Mahony with her Sixth Class pupils on a History Tour of Millstreet Town. Here having reached High Mill Lane where Babe Han O’Riordan and Nell Hickey provided some wonderfully interesting historic information.
Back now to 1995 where we visit Main Street, Millstreet and meet with John O’Keeffe, Babe Han O’Riordan and Lena O’Keeffe.
