My dear friends
I hope you are all doing well and staying safe and healthy. It is good to see our teachers and pupils back and thanks to the teachers and parents for the online work done. It hasn’t been easy. Please God the numbers will continue to drop, and we will be able to have our church ceremonies back. In the meantime, we are in the heart of Lent so hopefully we will all try to make it a time of prayer fasting and almsgiving. God is only a whisper away and we can draw closer to him in the tough times we are enduring.
As regards the First Communion / Confession and Confirmation we cannot make any plans until we see what we are allowed. But our teachers are sill using their skills and talents to have them as well informed as possible when the time comes. Hopefully parents will be able to direct their children in the true meaning of the sacrament. Prayer in the home is a great practice these times.
Trócaire boxes are available at the back of church. Please take one. Thanks to those who are still paying their dues and parish contributions even though we are unable to distribute envelopes. May God reward your generosity, and may he walk with us though the desert times of our lives as we await better times ahead. I am saying private Masses and remembering all in the parish that they may be safe and well.
“There are three things that last: Faith Hope, and love.” May we grow in these virtues.
Every blessing
Fr Tom

St Patrick’s Day 17th March
The faith passed to us through Patrick encourages us to greet each day with joy, hope and courage. Let us be inspired to meet the challenge of each new day with the words of St Patrick’s Breastplate:
I arise today, through
the strength of heaven,
The light of the sun,
The radiance of the moon…
I arise today, through
God’s strength to pilot me,
God’s might to uphold me,
God’s wisdom to guide me
God’s shield to protect me.
Fifth Sunday of Lent – March 21, 2021
For all those being called to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life, that they may deepen their faith in Christ who calls them to glorify God in a profoundly personal way through their vocations, we pray to the Lord.
