Wanted in the UK

The top headline news in this weeks Corkman Newspaper was the arrival of a sex offender who is wanted in the UK to Millstreet for a few days, staying in a caravan near Drishane. O’Brien was listed by Crimewatch UK as one of their most wanted criminal for December 2010. It says of him:

Richard O’Brien is a convicted sex offender who is wanted for breaching the conditions of his licence. The fifty two-year-old also uses the first names James and Michael. He has a distinctive blue tattoo of two hearts pierced with a spear on his chest. O’Brien is from Ireland but is believed to have links in Middlesex and West Wales.

Though the Gardaí were aware he was in the area, apparently he hadn’t actually done anything out of the way so there was nothing they could do to ease the worries of the locals.

However, what the Corkman doesn’t mention, is that he seems to have paid an unwelcome visit to the Thrift Shop after which the lady in charge called the Gardaí, as well as walk into some houses uninvited, and also avail of food and beverages provided by grieving families  intended for family and friends after burying their loved ones.
