Fantastic Turnout for the Millstreet Vintage Club John Barry Memorial Tractor Run held last Sunday

Millstreet Vintage Club held the Inaugural John Barry Memorial Tractor Run on Sunday May 7th last in Millstreet in aid of the Mercy Hospital Foundation, John Barry was a founding Member of Millstreet Vintage Club and was a very enthusiastic collector of Vintage Equipment and Memorobelia and it was fitting that the Run was based and started from John`s Home in Lackabawn, the Barry Historical Museum located in Lackabawn was also opened to the General Public on the day and John`s Son Dan Barry who organised the Event would like to to thank Everyone for the fantastic support received at the Event with an impressive 85 Tractors taking to the Road just after 12.30pm from Lackabawn outside Millstreet.

The Route for the Event took in some great Countryside Views as it made its way past Kilcorney Creamery where John worked for many years and then on to Kilcorney itself before heading on over the Brandy Road and from there the Tractors went on to the Rylane/Millstreet Road and then made there way on to Ballinagree where we were made very Welcome by our Friends and Neighbouring Club Ballinagree Vintage where the Tractors stopped for a Break, from there the Run made its way on to Mushera down past St Johns Well and then on to the Kerrymans Table and Aubane and from here made its way to Darbys Cross and back on to the finish in Millstreet, the Weather was a mixed bag on the day but was dry for the most part and Clerk of the Course Dan Barry would like to thank all the Marshals for keeping the Event Run so smoothly on the Road and in helping to co-ordinate Parking etc, also many thanks to Mick Duggan and his Co-Pilot Willie Fitzgerald along with Bike Marshalls Seanie Kelleher, Noel Kelleher and Anthony Kelleher for leading the Tractors out on the Road and keeping the Run progress so smoothly, to the Arrowong Crew for there help on marking the Route and to all the Crew at Sign On and to the Catering Crew in Lackabawn thanks for all your help,to the Media and Photographers for covering the Event thank you for the Publicity, also a big shout out to Connie Dennehy for looking after us so well in Ballinagree, and to Denis Lane for providing the use of his Public Address System, Dan would also like to acknowledge the help he got from Relatives Neighbours Friends etc which helped in a very big way to make the Event the success that it was.
