Full marks to Seanie Murphy and Matt Neville who organised the highly successful St. Patricks Day Parade in Carriganima on Sunday, and well done to all the people from all walks of life who arrived with a wide variety of artefacts to take part. From live-stock to motorised bicycles, vintage, comic acts ,the list goes on .There was a fine crowd. They were blessed with beautiful weather and the pleasant music of the Threshing Mill Boys echoed off the surrounding hills. This is the sort of thing that we need to lift our people out of the doldrums.

Still with Carriganima on this Friday night there will be an all girls party in the Pub, a sort of Women’s Christmas in March. All girls welcome.
Meanwhile up in Aubane they are all set to welcome the Sam Maguire Cup to-night at 8 o clock. Team member Noel O Leary will also be there, and all are welcome.
They have set-dancing every Monday night, Cards on Thursday nights.
Their annual Table Quiz on Good Friday night, April 22nd.
And a Family Fun Day on June 26th.
This is my final reminder of the Pipe Band Social which will be held at the Dromhall Hotel on this Saturday night. Thursday is the last day for buying your ticket. They are available at the Credit Union or ask any member. The Band is serving our Community for 60 years, please help them to celebrate in style on Saturday night.
We are eagerly looking forward to our first Walking Festival which will be held on April 9/10th. Some of our finest scenic routes will be opened up for he first time, Our hard working organisers have worked out a program which will kick off at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Friday evening April 8th.There will be a guest speaker and people will have an opportunity to mingle with fellow walkers and check out the planned routes. The AGM of the Lotto committee was held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Friday night. Up and running for fifteen years it is held in aid of the Town Park, the GAA and the Youth Amenity Complex. It continues to be the life’s blood of these important features in our Community. It is run entirely on voluntary lines, with a strict system of accountability.
The Co-Chairmen Denis Twomey and Noel Buckley paid tribute to all concerned with the local lotto, and remarked on the wonderful co-operation that exists among them, the good humoured atmosphere coupled with the hard work and continued dedication, that we all have reason to be proud of. They thanked the general public for their continued support over the years. At the election of Officers the existing team were re-elected in block, Copies of the financial report are available on request.
